Phil: Slovenia – Well we managed to get into the hall to see a couple of rehearsals of this and, unfortunately, I am still of the opinion that it is three minutes of complete tripe. It is a great two-minute intro – ruined by 60 seconds of singing – supposedly in Slovene and English – but I missed the switch between the two. It just confuses and confounds me beyond belief and it looks messy on stage. Gone are the white sheets for Martina to burst through and in come the white light portal arrangements.

Franko: Well this is almost like Sweden part two. The Slovenes have never been big on originality. It’s just as big tripe as well. I can just about cope with all the violins and guessing whether it’s going to be the arch window today children, but the singing was a big mistake. She should have gone for the Nocturne effect and been minimalist. Minimalist to the point of not bothering. Switching between Slovene and English doesn’t help as it’s done very clumsily. This is going nowhere fast. Dull and wooden.
