Do you want a vocal group? One of that curious breed where four(ish) voices are better than one? Well today is your lucky day.
In 1976, the United Kingdom of stuff sent the Brotherhood of Man to The Hague with a cute little song. Among the quartet was today’s birthday girl Sandra Stevens. She dressed in red for the occasion, just in case you didn’t know, and one of her cohort was her other half – the late great Martin Lee (with the moustache). They were performing first, which wasn’t the disadvantage on those jury days that it is today. And they won, scoring at least three points off ever jury – glory indeed. Their song went big in the UK, and even made the US’s Billboard Hot 100! Even more glory indeed. The song is still a feature of any Eurovision montage. So go ahead and watch this classic.
Sandra is 75 today.
Happy birthday, Sandra!
