So … despite the roars of laughter in the press room on Monday when we all saw the concept for this song – if you can call it a concept – Belarusian TV and Alexseev have decided to go “you know what, this is absolutely fine”.
As I said on Monday, they are clearly committed to a concept (which is in itself a good thing), but someone, somewhere, must have had a dissenting voice. Surely somebody said: “What will Europe think if we present this?” No?
The song is weak anyway, the staging is all sorts of crazy, and it clearly detracts from Generic Belarusian Eurovision Entry Number 29 being performed as well as Alexseev’s limited talent might offer.
Qualifying? – HELL NO
