Home team last to officially release Eurovision entry for 2019

Host broadcaster Kan this evening released ‘Home’ the song that Kobi Marimi will perform at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest when he represents host nation, Israel.

Their thunder was somewhat stolen earlier in the day when newspaper Israel Hayom leaked the song ahead of time through its website.

“Home” was written by Ohad Shargai and Inbar Weitzman. Talking about his Eurovision entry Kobi said: “From first hearing the song really moved me and I connected to it immediately, I thank the committee for picking a song that fits me perfectly.”

Kobi will be the 14th act to take the stage at the Grand Final on May 18.

Time to meet

With all the song out in the open, it’s time for the Heads of Delegation to meet and hear about progress for the next contest. They’ll be on site for two days in Tel Aviv. Don’t expect much in the way of news, it’s rarely worth more than a bland press release.

As for OnEurope, we’re sharpening our pens (and typing fingers) to let you know what we think of the 41 competing songs in our annual three-way Countdown. Mo, Mr Phil and Monty have opinions and they’re going to share.

Never miss a Eurovision thing
