3 October – Why we make it tough, the world has had enough

Sometimes, what you need to get ahead is a really good prop. It could be because you don’t think your song can manage without one, or it could be to enhance an already top-draw song.

But it’s the choice of prop that matters. The wrong one, and people will laugh at you. The right one fits right in and people hardly notice it. In Tel Aviv, Denmark sent today’s birthday girl Leonora Colmor Jepsen. Her propr was so subtle you might not even notice it. Yes, that’s right, she started with her back to the audience. Her audience were the prop. No? OK, it was a giant chair which was big enough for her pals to join her, with the aid of safely placed ladders, naturally. Anyway, it was enough for her to squeeze through her semi-final and make the big show. We’re not sure whether she used an even bigger chair for the final, but she managed a 12th place. It just shows props can work after all.

Leonora is 22 today.

Tillykke med fødselsdagen, Leonora!
