The detractors among you will still notice that the Finns have done nothing significantly different from their national final performance, which is a good thing. The girls still look and sound better than anything in this bit of the first semi-final. It’s lively and bright and very very good. Qualifying!
Poland simply isn’t qualifying. What on earth possessed TVP to:
- Dress the girls up in what can only be described as some sort of national dress and
- RIP off the girls clothing that is being draped around Marcin.
This now looks a complete dog’s dinner and will make the audience laugh heartily at it, or go “ewwww” … like I did.
I seriously think that dressing the Belgian guy in a waistcoat and suit trousers is a mistake. It detracts from the whole point of the song that it is just a boy and his guitar. Thankfully, though, Tom is good enough for this not to detract from the performance, which is spot on, and it should still qualify with ease and still be a contender, but someone needs to tell his ‘styling och consulting‘ people though – tap them on the shoulder and go “noooo!”
‘Styling och consulting’ you say? Not in Malta. The Seagull/Pigeon man needs to go! Why is it that some berk has to mess up any semi-decent Maltese entry. If this was just vocals, that would be OK, but it’s got this horrid thing in the background. Again, this is another one you should rule out from your qualifying list.
