Iceland – Is it’s intended audience too small?

In the same way that Denmark feels as though it’s just one big in-joke.  Iceland feels exactly the same to me. However, whereas the Danes are very slappable and deserve to be punched, Daði & Gagnamagnið don’t. They just need to sing the damn song.

The eighties are coming back (oh, Rufus, you were just too early) but it doesn’t give me that winning feeling like 5 or 6 others have. Logically I would, in a final – assuming all things equal – have at least four or perhaps five songs ahead of this … and, if Europe sees the same show, then cases for that number can be made too. What the juries will make of it is anyone’s guess ,and they could do anything, but I suspect they’ll mark this UP in its semi final and DOWN in the final, which it’s going to get to.

Nothing has changed on stage from when they last rehearsed (which I can’t remember when that was). It’s all 8-bit graphics and faux 80’s all the way. I just think that there are too many other good songs that will get the televoters more interested.

Qualifying? Definitely
