Romania – Clearly never on a Saturday

The phrase “a nag set to music” was surely coined for this song. Ester seemed to make this feel like hard work and despite it being the regulation three minutes, it felt twice or even three times as long.

She had some backing dancers on stage in outfits that looked like they rescued them from Hatari’s shredder.  It was all very dark and brooding with added flames at the end of the performance, but like so many times in the last three days, it just passed me by and I wanted it to stop.

She did the song three times, but never once did it engage me and looking around the Press Centre, it seemed that it didn’t engage anyone else that much either.

Whilst Ester sings well, if she’s not engaging, she ain’t scoring!
