Nicky Byrne will be representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
Breaking news from Donnybrook, RTE have confirmed that the ex-Westlife and current Irish Radio presenter on 2FM Nicky Byrne will be representing Ireland at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. He will be singing the song Sunlight.
The song, that you can see the lyric video of at the top right, was written by Nicky, along with established songwriting team of Wayne Hector and Ronan Hardiman. RTE’s Head of Entertainment has, on eurovision.tv, stated that RTE have to be flexible in it’s approach to the contest. FINALLY!! – This means that they are not tied to the Late Late Show it seems!
The song will be performed live on the Ray D’Arcy Show on Sunday 13th February.
