If you can’t get in, go next door

Pavilion

With Tel Aviv set to host the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, the first news has emerged of a way to allow more fans to watch the show live than there are seats in the venue.

The Pavilion 2 is officially a 9000-seat venue, though with the set-up needed for Eurovision, this is likely to shrink to around 6000 – meaning there will be fewer tickets than in recent years. To get around this, organisers plan to overflow into a nearby hall and use this to house the ‘green room’ and huge screens to relay action from the main hall. Tickets for this space will go on general sale, boosting capacity by around 2-3000.

Ticket sale starts in December.
