Phil’s Eurovision Countdown 2022 – Part 2 – Armenia

Rosa Linn – Snap

Armenian public telly clearly knew when this Countdown was starting, because they waited till almost the last day. They also seem to think that we were all born yesterday. It immediately sounded familiar to me and it didn’t take me very long to work out why.

It’s this:

Slowed down with opposite lyrics! I checked to see if the song writers were Danish and discovered that they weren’t but the similarity is very striking indeed … well to me at any rate.

Lyrically its all angsty teenager getting to her breaking point whist strumming her guitar on her own, then building back better (note to self, never quote Boris again!).

The best thing I can say about this one is that it’s not terrible, which is me damning it with faint praise. It’s just background music though, and doesn’t make you actively want to vote for it – which usually means no one else will either. It’s going to struggle to qualify.

Phil’s Score – 3 Points

Is there anything which makes this song specifically Armenian?Or is this just a song which could be sung by any other country and will still sound the same?
Not really an exciting song. Nice is the best I can say about this one and nice never win Eurovision
