Event Details

Sanremo Giovani is an Italian music competition held in Sanremo since 1993. The contest is designed to showcase young singers, giving them the chance to be selected for the following year’s prestigious Festival di Sanremo. Over the years, the selection process has changed, but the aim remains the same: to discover and promote new musical talent.

Four live episodes will air on 12, 19, 26 November, and 3 December, with six artists performing each night. Only three will advance, leading to a semifinal on 10 December. The finale, broadcast live on Rai 1 from the Sanremo Casino on 18 December, will determine the four who will earn a spot in the Nuove Proposte (Newcomers) category at Sanremo 2025.

RAI

RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana (Italian pronunciation: [ˈrai ˌradjoteleviˈzjoːne itaˈljaːna]; commercially styled as Rai since 2000; known until 1954 as Radio Audizioni Italiane) is the national public broadcasting company of Italy, owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. RAI operates many terrestrial and subscription television channels and radio stations. It is one of the biggest broadcasters in Italy competing with Mediaset, and other minor radio and television networks. RAI has a relatively high television audience share of 35.9%. RAI broadcasts are also received in surrounding countries, including Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, France, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovenia, Switzerland, Tunisia and the Vatican City, and elsewhere on pay television and some channels FTA across Europe including UK on the Hotbird satellite. Half of RAI's revenues come from broadcast receiving licence fees, the remainder from the sale of advertising time.[6][7] In 1950, RAI became one of the 23 founding members of the European Broadcasting Union.
