Eleventh place must be that most unlucky of positions. You only just miss out on a shot at the big prize, you’ve really done no better than someone who’s finished many places beneath you, and you might be in the next plane home. On the plus side, you get to point and laugh at the Grand Finalists. That unlucky eleventh place in the biggest semi-final fell to today’s birthday girl Sabrina (née Maria Teresa Villa-Lobos). She was up against another song with a similar title and a similar theme (which the comfortably beat), so it may have split the vote. But as another four points would have seen our Sabrina through to the final, she probably had every right to point and laugh at the Saturday night finalists.
Sabrina is 38 today.
