8 February – Be my river of hope

There’s an optimistic if ever there was one. Although it probably depends what type of river it means. If it’s a heavily polluted one, there won’t be much hope there. Or it could be one of those nice tropical meandering ones. Hope would spring eternal.

Now today’s birthday girl Claudette Pace (now Buttigieg), comes from a country that has very little in the way of rivers. So that must mean the Maltese writer either has a very vivid imagination. Or perhaps – shock, horror – they weren’t Maltese. Actually, Claudette has seen much of Europe and, so we understand, once had a boyfriend in Scandinavia. So performing in Stockholm must have been right up her street.

Claudette is 50 today.

Għeluq sninek it-tajjeb, Claudette!
