2004. A year of momentous change. We got our first proper semi-final held in the same city as the Grand Final. If you had been for a week before, you had to do 10 days now. Istanbul wasn’t all bad. Nice and sunny, lots to see and do. Parties held all over the city including the best ever opening party, at a palace on the Boğaziçi. And of course lots of countries. Some had been before but never done that well. Some tried to make an impression with interesting outfits. Like Linas Adomaitis. He wore white which went ‘nicely’ with the pink worn by Simona Jakubėnaitė. They had an early bath but seemed to be enjoying themselves on stage. Linas is 39 today.
