Do you remember 1991? It was a unique contest. RAI of Italy had an embarrassment of riches at their disposal. So imagine the planning meeting once they’d moved the fest from San Remo to Rome. Where can we host it? Well, we’ve got a whole load of film studios doing nothing. And a set? well, we’ve got some 1950s props we want to get rid of. Maybe the rowdy Finns can trash them for us. And who can we get to present it? How about that Gigliola? Yeah good idea, but we need someone else. Eros Ramazotti? Nah, too famous. Pippo Baudo? Nah, not famous enough. Then there’s that eejit that made us spend millions of lira. Toto thing? Yeah, that’s the guy. He’ll be perfect. I know I’m rambling, but I’m having trouble thinking of anything to write about Luxembourg and their performer in Rome Mick Wersant, also known as Sarah Bray. Sarah is 49 today.
Bonne anniversaire, Sarah!
