Many years before the first Junior Eurovision graced our screens, child stars did have the chance to perform in the senior show. This was phased out in the 1990s, but a few of them appeared over the years. In 1969, our Monégasque friends sent 12 year-old Jean-Jacques Bortolaï, complete in his turquoise suit. And, so we’re told, if he didn’t win his mother was going to give him a slap. He’s now apparently involved in rugby. Jean Jacques is 58 today.
Bonne anneversaire, Jean Jacques!
