I breathe close to you

Spare a thought for the act at any Eurovision Song Contest that has to perform first. What’s the crowd like? Are they friendly? Is it a full house? Are those people there from [insert country name here] with their massive flags that annoy everyone?

Opening the contest once can be daunting. But doing it a second time could be just plain bad luck. Hence today’s pick. Marty Brem performed as part of Blue Danube in 1980. He then came back in 1981 as a soloist with four strangely dressed young ladies. But the experience didn’t quite work. He came 17th.
