29 August – Doesn’t your soul hear when I say I love you?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Do you miss Bosnia and Herzegovina? They were a welcome addition to our Eurovision family over 30 years ago, but they’re sitting on the substitute’s bench these day. No doubt with their feet up and watching Eurovisions with oodles of popcorn.

The did some good stuff whilst they participated, but maybe the one by today’s birthday boy Вахидин ‘Нино’ Пршеш/Vahidin ‘Nino’ Pršeš is less-remembered than some of BiH’s other fare. He got an early gig in 2001 at the cavernous Parken in København, so maybe his understated performance was overlooked by the time the hosts performed at the end. His points were from places scattered around Europe, so there must have been some broad appeal. Or it was perhaps because some though he was Ali G.

Nino is 52 today.

Srećan rođendan/Срећан рођендан, Nino/Нино!
