The second-longest journey in Eurovision was undertaken in 2012. You may recall that the fest that year was in sunny/windy/wet Baku, right on the edge of our fine continent. Only two hours ahead of me. And then you have our friends from Iceland, only three hours behind me. A five hour time difference is not to be laughed at, so imagine the fun the Icelanders had travelling from their home country. They were, of course, Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir and Jón Jósep ‘Jónsi’ Snæbjörnsson. He obviously liked the Turkic-world as he’d done his schtick before in Istanbul. Greta is 29 today.
Til hamingju með afmælið, Greta Salóme!
