I was really glad when Italy came back to Eurovision after a large number of years away. They’d thrown the toys out of their perambulator shortly after the late great Mia Martini only finished fourth with one of the best Eurovision songs ever. And who could blame them. For those of you old enough to remember, they did have a run of classic songs before they withdrew, starting with an odd duet between razor-blade voiced Fausto leali and the stunningly good-looking Anna (Hoxha) Oxa. They looked an odd couple but their voices contrasted well. Just so you know, Anna is the blonde. Anna is 54 today.
