ESC birthdays 29/10 – One day, dear reader, one day

Star

After a song that didn’t do so well yesterday, I’ve picked a winner today. A fine fine singer of a fine fine song. She was sadly taken from us in 1996 and had to share her victory with three other performers. By my rough reckoning, if the 1969 contest had been scored by today’s rules, Frida Boccara would have won – number of countries, then highest number of votes from countries. I still think this was the best of the four winners. In fact, it is absolute class. Frida would have been 75 today.
