ESC birthdays 6/4 – Hold on, Eurovision is soon

The United Kingdom of stuff hosted a great show last week. I know, as I sneaked into the place where it happened. I liked what they did and enjoyed their Brotherhood of Man tribute act, who seemed so realistic it was untrue. I did ask myself why Katrina wasn’t there. Or Sandie Shaw. Or Lulu. Or any of their acts from down the years. In 2004 when the contest was on the then edge of Europe, we saw a talent show competitor James (Richard Mullett) Fox try his luck after doing really well in the UK’s national final. Despite his direct qualification to the final, he only finished 16th (but 10 places better then the UK’s previous entry). James is 39 today.

Happy birthday, James!
