Some interesting claims are made about some Eurovision performers. There’s one who’s sold millions and millions of records, but turned up in a bad haircut singing about herself in Dublin. Or the one that wrote his country’s national anthem. Or there’s the most photographed woman in her country. No, I’m not talking about Queen Elizabeth II, but today’s birthday girl Vesna Pisarović. I blagged my way into the 2002 contest, and a friend decided he was going to go to Croatia, find a little old babushka and take thousands of photos of her, just to rain on Vesna’s parade. I think he’s still photographing the little old lady. Vesna is 37 today.
