There was once a time when looks didn’t quite matter as much, as you’ll see from the look of today’s birthday boy. He was his country’s début entrant and came a creditable fourth. Of course, back in 1966 most performers were big names in their homelands and had a string of hits. Richard ‘Dickie’ Rock was one such big name so to him, a Saturday night gig in a Villa in a Luxembourg park was just another engagement. Dickie is 78 today.
