Eurovision birthdays 22/12 – Why, just why?

We are all in mourning after the sad news of the loss of Udo Jürgens. As we know, he won in 1966 and has been a legend in the pop world, particularly among German speakers, for 50 years. It might be comforting to know that he died experiencing some of the finest views of the Alps – it’s a place I wouldn’t object to breathing my last. So I’ve broken with tradition and chosen his first attempt at Eurovision glory, but outside of the Eurovision bubble – no complete reliable video-recording of the 1964 Contest exists.

RIP Udo – we’ll miss you
