You have to love those Austrians. The home of the waltz and the troubled child prodigy. And a love/hate relationship with our favourite TV show. They’ve given us singers that keep coming back, songs parodying the music industry, folk songs and giant red ribbons. But in 1971, once they’d picked up their toys after their naturalised Czech didn’t win, they sent Marianne (Krupucka) Mendt. She did even worse than the aforementioned Czech. Marianne is 69 today.
