Duets are a curious thing. They’re songs that are not right for a soloist, but there needs to be a bit of banter between the two protagonists. They often end up standing 1 centimetres apart and shouting as loudly as possible. I’m looking at you Georgia 2013. But it wasn’t always this way. In 1966, the fragrant Lill Lindfors teamed up with birthday boy Svante Thuresson and they both sang at the camera, with Lill looking over her shoulder occasionally at the peasant Svante. It was all rather jolly. Svante is 78 today.
