Phil’s Eurovision Countdown – Part…29 lets say. Portugal

OK I admit it, i missed out Part 29 in my counting methodology so lets call Portugal 29 and say no more about it.

In fact, that would be good advise for this song as well.  It really is a little bit poor, in fact it’s a lot poor. It is the definition of a “difficult three minutes”.  I don’t even know what they were trying to achieve apart from not winning the thing again and, as such, this is a giant step back for Portugal, back into the dark times of having to enter something for something’s sake and not really paying attention to the contest trends and, it can be argued, it makes Salvador look even more like an accidental good Portuguese song.

Granted it’s not all bad.  It does have a “bit of the Belgium” about it with the melody but, from the official video, when the second singer comes in at 60% of the way through the song the audience will not have been woken from their slumbers.

Phil’s score – Two points.
