Phil’s Eurovision Countdown – Part 39 – Slovenia

Lea Sirk

Slovenia have a great track record in this contest and EMA can be, in my opinion, one of the best song selections in all of Europe.

Sadly, though, one of the better songs didn’t win this time and we get lumbered with this clunky song.  I’m not sure that it knows what it wants to be. It’s trying to be edgy and hard nosed but then in the next breath it’s trying to be populist, with a decent tune but the chorus has let the song down and, when you boil it all down, it’s a woman going “Sorry, No” and that’s basically what I feel when I listen to this song.

Phil’s Score – 3 points.
