If you were watching the last contest from Stockholm, you’ll remember a certain interval act. And Måns and Petra might have been onto something.
No, not the half-naked drummers wearing nothing but oil, a sheepskin and a smile. I mean the curious ethnic instruments and singers dressed in traditional clothing. It can work but doesn’t always. Today’s birthday boy Luiz Ejlli turned up for Albania and had a couple of mates wearing what looked authentic, and matching hats. Luiz was dressed more contemporarily, as if to try and cover all bases. Maybe they should have stuck to one style. Despite this brave move, and a song in Albanian, he couldn’t quite make it out of the semi-final. Still, they just looked happy to be there, and that’s all that matters.
Luiz is 33 today.
Gëzuar ditëlindjen, Luiz!
