We love all the songs we pick for this birthdays feature – generally. And all manner of fates befall them. Some get stuck in the twilight zone of a semi-final. Some do much better. Today we have one that did slightly better still.
So much better in fact, this song actually won. It was much to everyone’s surprise I understand, as the betting odds were astronomical, and some people even made a bit of money out of it. The birthday boy is Jørgen Olsen (with the beard) singing with Noller, his kid brother. But what won it? I think it’s the split second when the lights went up and we had a beautiful key change. I think you’ll agree this was a great winner. It’s like a warm hug.
Jørgen is 75 today.
