UK breaking news, things are falling into place!

So impressions of the automatic finalists.

Germany is as it was, no worse and certainly no better. There’s nothing to add here. It’s just very forgettable. Drawn first half.

Molly is wearing a gold feathery shouldered ensemble and the backing singers and drummer have black leather with feathers too. I thought it might be too much as I was expecting something more rustic, hippy chick but it actually looks good on screen. This is all coming together nicely, she saved her voice today and that’s a sign they’re taking it very seriously. Good. She’s just so charming in the press conference revealing that she’s been blown away by the production, the enthusiasm of the fans and the fact that Eurovision is so much more fabulous than she’d dare hope. I told her we were neighbours in Kensington but she revealed she only worked there in Topshop and actually lives in Lewisham. And we have second half of the draw, me oh my, maybe just maybe. Can I just say how pleased I am with the BBC’s attitude again this year. London or Leicester next year?

France are much improved and not looking as lost on stage although I still fail to see how they’re going to dent the left hand side on Saturday, sorry Monty! Though they’ve drawn second half.

Denmark still working that stage and getting our toes tapping. I still think this is very strong and will no doubt be surrounded by two ballads on Saturday so will stand out very well.

Italy next and I don’t really like what Emma is wearing, it’s all too much gold leaf and I’m not a fan of the leaf laurel in the hair. I think the staging is too busy but I like her energy and she sure works it well. I wouldn’t be surprised if this opened the show on Saturday if drawn first half.

Ruth for UK/Spain now. A gorgeous cream frock showing off her curves though adorned with what looks like masking tape around the boobs. It almost looks like a pair of eyes on her breast and a bit strange quite frankly. Not quite as shout today. The staging is very effective and I hope she can keep the vocal under control on Saturday.
