As you have guessed by now – I have not seen the first two rehearsals this afternoon – but I sense you will be filled in by other sites.
Moving on, the first thing I did get to see was Portugal. Portugal was, well, better, really.. (Lets face it, it can’t get any worse can it??) – They still look and sound twenty years out of date (though I feel that this opinion is not replicated by the rest of the site), but it does have a certain something – probably me reaching for the bucket and throwing up – and could well be in the shake up for the votes – but I SINCERELY hope that it isn’t. The stage performance does look more polished than on Friday (or whatever day it was).
Sweden – Oh dear, oh dear. It still looks like a dog’s breakfast of a song and it is still hideous beyond belief – it is a woman with bad backing singers and a flag waving just makes it look like a complete mess. Why is it that the supposed decent songs this year are fucking it up with over staged and overstated choreography? Oh well … It probably is going to qualify – but it shouldn’t. The only thing I will concede is that boy does she have a voice and a half to go with it – and that’s the bad thing. IF she was on 80%, I would like it better, but TONE IT DOWN LOVE!!!!
Estonia – Oh dear oh dear oh dear. she can’t hit the high notes – it looks exactly the same as it does on the Eurolaul and you remember what happened in the reprise of the Eurolaul don’t ya!! There is heavy choreography in this – but vocally I can’t see it. Though in the press centre at the moment I can see it on the screen and she looks really really good – but no …
