For your viewing pleasure in these exceptional times, we’re going back to a simpler age. A time of cosy contests all over in one short evening. A time of two jurors per country and two jurors only. And a time of hair. Lots of hair.
It’s the distant 1970s and we found ourselves in Edinburgh. A place known for music, and then the Eurovision circus came into town. Eighteen countries polled up, and one of the further journeys was for today’s birthday boy Kim Floor. He wasn’t alone, and had the fragrant Päini Paunu with him. His song about remembering things could be apt today, when we think of a world without the strange case of Carolavirus (or whatever it’s called). Anyway, it seems Finnish wasn’t language that was easy on a juror’s ear. They came 12th.
Kim is 72 today.
Hyvää syntymäpäivää, Kim!
