Eurovision always loves a good sing-a-long song. Those mumbly arty Swedish types have their place, but nothing can beat a jovial singer with a big hearty smile. And a guitar.
OK, the guitar is an optional extra, but when you get a nice bouncy little tune, you can’t help but tap that foot. Or maybe both foots. Today’s birthday girl Jasmine Tatjana Anette Valentin had a nice tune that you could hum along too, even if you had no knowledge of Finnish. It’s maybe not quite right for a kicking Eurovision disco, but more for that sing-a-long around a camp fire on a starry night. Sadly, the 1996 wasn’t around a blazing fire so our Jasmine didn’t quite have the right setting. Iceland and Norway liked what she did though.
Jasmine is 46 today.
