So who is going to represent Finland in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest? Sandhja, that’s who!
The Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (or UMK as it’s called) hit Finnish airwaves again in February 2016.
Each Saturday there was a six song semi final, with three qualifying to the final on the 27th February. YLE have released all the songs, although they hid them so well, that I virtually forgot about UMK. The competition is now over and there was a 50/50 televote and jury split, but the juries were a bit different.
Wikipedia explains: “The jury voting will be provided by ten jury groups that represent different sections of Finnish society: Eurovision experts, musicians, the media, YouTube personalities, Finland Swedes, LGBT, members of parliament, asphalt constructors, children and social media users.”
Here are the results of the asphalt jury
Well yes, apparently it did go something like that, rather scarily, but it’s the end result that matters. As you cnow know, Sadhja won a very close final by leading the jury and coming third in the televote.
That’ll make some people unhappy let me tell you. The song, in my opinion, is good and could do very well.
But what do YOU think? You can listen to the song below in our Eurovision streaming service. Should you wish to download it – you can from here (right click to save).
