Finland – Trust me, there isn’t much better than this. This has been staged EXACTLY in the right way , SoftEngine love the camera and the camera loves them. The Lead is such a good singer that he makes the song with his good looks and his rasping shouty voice at the end of the song.
Visually its a total contrast between the slightly dark opening and then there is typical britpop vibe with shitloads of lighting cues and effects and at about 33 seconds I defy you to not to start drumming on the table and, once they start singing “All these words” you won’t be able to stop yourself going “All These Words” with them. (guess how many did this in the press center)
Jurywise, You can not say that there are 6 worse songs than this with the energetic performance and the vibe make this very dangerous. Televoters, after the madness that has gone before with Conchita and Poland and Georgia, this is one that may well rake in the votes. Qualifying, definitely because it looks and sounds brilliant. Top 10 in the next bit? – I should say so!
Whilst I agree with you, I can’t help thinking the lead singer needs to do a bit more, than just stand there. the last time we had Britpop that stood still Switzerland didn’t qualify. This isn’t a Friend in Copenhagen, and I do think they could do one or two more things to earn, no cement my vote.
Handsome none the less, on so many levels.
