Sleeping satellites

Oh dear. I probably shouldn’t have invoked the spirit of Wincey Willis.no. Monsoon season has arrived here in Oslo, it’s making Sunday’s torrents look like a little bit of drizzle that won’t amount to very much. Can’t hear a flipping thing of Lena’s rehearsals in the press centre. It’s just rain, rain, rain and the occasional thunderclap, literally drowning her vocals out completely.

She looks very good. I’d give up on this but I’m really not going anywhere any time soon!!!!

Phil: I think this is going to win – but I have been here for many months now and I may not be totally on my best form.

For OUR newcomer we provided the kitchen sink and no song.
For THEIR Newcomer they provided a her, 5 backing singers, and a *song*

Lena plays the part she has been playing since this song was chosen and they have kept the green from Unser Star Fur Deutschland and basically have done nothing too it.

Franko: German Lena has become a massive hit getting to number one in her native land and scoring nearly 9 million hits on Youtube. Before coming out here to the land of Eurovisionia I had this down as one of my bankers for top 5 but it just sounds so awful live. It leaves you wondering if she can sing. There’s no real performance apart from our Lena standing at the front of the stage as if the rest of the team are backing away from her.

They think they’ve won this which only makes the reality worse. The harsh failed mockney really comes across badly live. I think part of the problem is the backing track, it’s not masking her voice in the same way that the recorded version does.

She’s trying to be an Essex girl and unfortunately she’s succeeding….
