Fan fave wins first Lithuanian Eurovision show

Monika Marija won the first heat of Eurovizijos Atranka – the 2020 TV series that will name a Eurovision representative for Lithuania.

Marija was backed by some fans as the most likely representative after having two songs lined up for the 2019 Lithuanian national final. There was – at the time – a feeling of her splitting her support.

36 songs are in the running this year. The national selection show ‘We Go Again! 2020’ began last night. The first three programmes are elimination heats where half the acts will be eliminated. The results of each are determined by a 50/50 combination of votes from a jury panel and public televoting.
