Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija (LRT), the Lithuanian public broadcaster, has officially announced that Lithuania will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, to be held in Austria next spring. The news was confirmed through LRT via ESC Today and widely reported by Eurovision-focused outlets
A proud Baltic declaration
Lithuania joins a growing list of participating nations, including Albania, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and host Austria. Notably, it is the first Baltic country to confirm its appearance for the 2026 contest
Following a national selection tradition
LRT has indicated that the 2026 representative will likely be chosen via Eurovizija.LT, the national selection format thag tends to feel like it’s never off our screens come January. To be fair, though, following the introduction of this format, Lithuania has maintained qualification streaks while also embracing native-language entries.
LRT will soon announce application windows, semi-final formats, voting panels, and key dates.
