We’re looking at a country that tries today. And it’s a country that’s become associate with one act even though a number of others have tried. Some were even from that same country.
But the Most Serene Republic hat is San Marino has – occasionally – sent performers that weren’t a certain Valentina. They’ve taken part 14 times. Where have those years gone? In 2011 and 2021, RSM sent today’s birthday girl Senhit/Senit (née Senhit Zadik Zadik). She had the tallest of orders, because her (adopted) country was still taking things seriously, but hadn’t quite got the touch of San Marino Major (that’s Italy). Senit did score a decent smattering of points in both of her contests, and has a better success rate of making Grand Finals than Ms Monetta. Does that make her San Marino’s best? Well Flo Rida wouldn’t come onto a stage for just anyone – so maybe she is.
