I hope you enjoy reading this little column, despite some of the interesting choices we make here at Oneurope. We aim to appeal to all tastes.
With that in mind, here’s a song that might appeal to someone, somewhere. It’s from our friends in the Serene Republic, who always have plenty to say, even if it’s completely out of tune with the rest of Europe. Today’s birthday boy Ahmet ‘Serhat’ Hacıpaşalıoğlu is – surprise surprise – not from San Marino. His country hasn’t participated for a few years so he and his songwriter (from the same country) obviously needed an outlet for their creative talent. Serhat didn’t finish last in his semi-final even though no-one gave him a chance. It must have been the 1970s cop show vibe.
Serhat is 54 today.
Buon compleanno, Serhat!
