We know that you, dear reader, love Sweden. It’s had numerous wins, and a whole bunch of good results. And because those Swedes like their Eurovision, familiar names keep cropping up.
One of those frequent names is today’s birthday girl Marianne ‘Nanne’ Elisabeth Grönvall. She flirted around at many Melodifestivalens in her time, but only won the big prize as part of the trio One More Time, with husband Peter and pal Maria. It could be one of the best-ever Swedish songs. Not undaunted, she tried several times since, most recently in 2020. She’s also a revered member of the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame. Is she Sweden’s Ms Eurovision? Name someone more worthy.
Nanne is 63 today.
