Many people have trodden the boards more than once, some with aplomb, and some doing stuff we’d rather not talk about. And I’m not possibly going to mention singers from the world’s oldest republic.
But today we have a lady who’s been in it four times. Admittedly, today’s birthday girl Sue Schell was part of a trio. But what a trio. They never won, although came close in this, their final attempt. And this song did get the most maxima in 1981, which must say something. In their time, Peter Sue and Marc sang in four different languages in their four appearances. They even once performed surrounded by garden furniture. In my humble opinion, this is one of the best Eurovision songs ever.
Sue is 72 today.
Buon compleanno/Frohe Geburtstag/Bonne anniversaire, Sue
it realy is a great song. 1 of the best coming from the 80’s.
In 1982 it got a Dutch version, performed by Willeke Alberti, who later represented The Netherlands in 1994. As far as I know, the Dutch version becme a huge hit in The Netherlands.
In Dutch it called Het is nog niet voorbij”, which translate to:”It’s not over yet”
Enjoy
