18 July – You sure could have knocked me down with the proverbial feather

I thought it was high time for a vintage contest. You now the type: black and white, a small number of people on stage, an orchestra, and a simple scoring system. Good times.

Also, back in the day, our friends in the United Kingdom of stuff were pretty good at Eurovisions. When they weren’t winning, they were being first loser runner-up. Quite rightly in some cases. Whether today’s song by Bryan Johnson is a classic or not (it is) I’ll leave to you. Bryan had also followed his brother Teddy who’d sung in Cannes in 1959. His song and the winner ran away with things. The BBC had to wait seven more years for its first victory.
