So who is going to represent Ukraine in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest? Jamala… it appears.
It’s a fine question that will be answered in 3 acts. There are going to be 2 Semi finals, on the 6th and 13th February, each with NINE songs. The winner will be selected by 50/50 Jury and televote, there will be a 3 person jury, with Ruslana and Verka and Konstantin (!) on it, plus a public televote which will decide the winner.
The Two semi final results are now shown below. It appears that the final is going to be a two horse race between Jamala and SunSsay with the rest battling on for third place as these two are clearly the most popular. SunSay have scored a higher televote percentage but who knew what was going to happen?
Well even in this topsy turvy final we didn’t. I’ve seen it described as a 4 hour argument with less pain than that. Jurors checking validity of songs and the rules, and a winner ( see below and left) that COULD put the contest into disrepute. No Mp3 for this because it might not even BE the entry!!
