Hey all – Sorry I’ve been missing in action during the busiest time of year for the site, but my health has taken a bad turn – basically I have had a vitreous haemorrhage behind both eyes – bleeding into the gap in front of the retina and – as such – have been totally blind for two of the last three weeks – save for the odd day when I have strained my eyes to see a tiny screen.
Having taken two weeks to get the computer and the phone into dark mode, I can manage to type and post again – Who knew that your eyes were not only the gateway to your soul, but to life itself?
The prognosis seems to be good. The eye doc has said that he can now see the retina, and the blood is draining away slowly – which is a bonus – and I have managed to see more each day. I’m not going to lie – it’s frustrating as all hell – especially meaning that I have been out of the loop for the best part of three weeks over the busiest time of year.
Thankfully, I have been ably assisted in the site’s resurgance by Mr Mo Fanning who has done sterling work, I think you’ll agree, in giving you the info you have become accustomed to on this small piece of the interwebs, and he’ll never know quite how much I need to thank him!
Going forward, my eyes are improving day on day – today I can actually see to write on paper, something I had almost forgotten how to do and I’ve started writing, albeit in massive font on the computer, this year’s countdown. I know you can’t wait for that to begin – or perhaps you can, who cares, lol.
I know that some of you know me off here and IRL – I just wanted to let you know what had happened!
As the Queen Mother would say in Spitting Image – “I’m not dead yet!”
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery
Really bad timing. My husband has a birthday in May which is really unthoughtful of him. But get well soon anyway as the other sites are being far too nice about the selection of songs released so far.
Good to have you back.
Glad to hear you are recovering.
Take care of yourself.
