My first concern was that TIX sounded sharper today – and that’s not the finest word to hear. Things instantly settled though, and we saw three neigh-on perfect rehearsals.
The staging for me remains much too literal and incredibly Eurovision – to where it’s one that will inevitably feature in those TV shows that remind us how daft the Contest can get.
Mr. TIX is still treated as an alternative Maypole by dancing inner demons who encircle him with their distracting chains, one of which came loose during the middle run-through.
I’m just left thinking I’ve seen and heard it all before. It’s pleasant and unexceptional.
The Fanning Verdict
It’s borderline at best. There’s nothing here that grabs my attention and whilst he’ll have fans, I’m not a new convert.
