Look, before we start out here, let me say categorically that I never deliberately set out to offend all of Spain, it just seems to go that way. RTVE describe this contest as a “Wonderful portrait of the cultural and avant-gardee wealth we have in our country” – well lets see who is on the list then?
Song | Performer(s) |
---|---|
Bésame | Carla Frigo |
La casa | Celine Van Heel |
Mala feminista | Chica Sobresalto |
Uh nana | Daniela Blasco |
Amor barato | David Afonso |
La pena | Deteresa |
No lo ves | Henry Semler |
VIP | J Kbello |
Me gustas tú | K!NGDOM |
Loca por ti | Kuve |
Hartita de llorar | La Chispa |
Te escribo en el cielo | Lucas Bun |
Raggio di sole | Mawot |
I'm the queen | Mel Ömana |
Esa diva | Melody |
Reinas | Sonia y Selena |
So the list above includes a tik-tocker , Someone who has been in Operacion Triumfo, an ex child star and singer in “The Boys Machine”, a graduate of the British institute of Modern Music in Brighton, an Electronic pop band, a couple of talent show winners, Melody, from the Spanish final of 2009, and a pair from Eurocancion 2001.
I’m not saying the barrel has been scraped but it certainly seems as though this lot are not A-List singers and performers here. Should you wish to learn more about them and, quite frankly, why wouldn’t you, TVE’s website En Espanol will be happy to oblige you with far far more details than we have here.
the format is going to be exactly the same as the previous three years – two semi finals on the 28th and 30th January and a final on Saturday 1st February. Usually the top 4 from the Semi Finals will go through to that eight song “spectacular” which will be dominated, probably, by men with muscles or women singing about literally anything to get the gays into a lather.
I hear that there are going to be another SIX reserve artists and songs announced, just in case any of the originals are a bit crap or withdraw, so watch this space!
